K4MXQ - Bob Bennett
Bob Bennett, K4MXQ

Bob originally earned his amateur radio license in the 1950's. After a time, however, his license expired. He and his wife had a son (Rob, Jr.) in 1961. His son got his Novice ticket on April Fool's Day of 1976. Rob WD4DUI went on to earn his Extra class in 1994.

Bob Bennett got back into ham radio in late 1992 with the call KD4TDA. He changed his call to K4MXQ in 1996. It was around that time Bob was with our club. In 1997 he and his wife participated in our Foxhunt, but came in last place. Bob also helped with setting things up for Field Day. In November 1998 he showed the club his homebrew 440 antenna which he made from the ARRL Handbook. He won the club's Homebrew Contest in 1995 and 1996.

Bob became an Silent Key near the end of 1998.
